Misc. Notes
Second husband of Hannah Hannah Barbara Devis (nee Barlow)
Name, year of birth, year of marriage (ca 1791), from tree laid out in an email from Derek Dillon on 19 March 2018. Derek is the x3-great grandson of Hannah Barlow (b.1759) and her second husband, David Gibson. (Hannah Barlow remarried after the death of first husband Henry Devis b.1750).
Bible page photo from Derek Dillon in an email dated 16 March 2018. Derek had copied the Bible pages, while visiting some cousins in England circa 1988. The Bible had been passed down through the Devis, Gibson and Dillon families.
At the time of publication in July 2018, Derek Dillon plans to do further research and Brian of
nzolivers.com is keen to further explore the marriage of David Gibson and Hannah Barbara Devis (nee Barlow).
Brian is descendant from this David Gibon’s wife, Hannah Barbara Devis (nee Barlow) and her first husband, Henry Devis (b. 1750).
There are credible reasons for Brian to add the Gibson family and desendants here:
1. Photographic Images from the Devis Family Bible sent by Derek Dillon in an email dated 16 March 2018 show the Willis, Devis, Gamble, Gibson, and Dillon families. There must be a reason they share the same Bible which has been handed down through the Gibson family to the Dillon family
2. There is continuous information between the Devis/Gamble families and the Gibson family. (An overlap of last Gamble entry is an 1815 year. First Gibson entry is a 1792 year). Therefore family records lead to the fact the Bible was indeed handed down within the families and were known to each other.
3. A DNA Search by Brian has come up with matches to the Dillon surname which requires followup:
_______x1 4th-6th cousin (would share a set of x3-great-grandparents to x5-great-grandparents)
_______x48 5th-8th cousin (would share a set of x4-great-grandparents to x7-great-grandparents)
NOTE: Hannah Barlow (wife of this David Gibson) is my (Brian of
nzolivers.com) x5-great-grandmother. And, Hannah Barlow is Derek’ Dillon’s x3-great-grandmother

http://www.nzolivers.com/tree/ps15/ps15_211.htmlYear (1809) and place (Southwark, London, England) of death from Linda Burge received in a “David Gibson Descendants Report” emailed on 28 June 2018. Linda is the x4-great granddaughter of Hannah Barbara Barlow b. 1759 and first husband Henry Devis. Hannah Barbara Devis (nee Barlow) remarried, to the David Gibson of the mentioned report.
Year of David’s marriage to Hannah Barbara Devis (nee Barlow) “circa 1793”, place of death, date of burial as “21 July 1846” from followup email on 2 July 2018 from Derek Dillon.
4. We welcome further research into the connection between the families and trust the information in this tree help facilitate this.

A Previous Marriage for David GibsonIn a followup email of 2 July 2018, Derek suggests that the child in Image 6 of the Bible (first name not readable _ _ych Gibson) may have been from a marriage previous to that with Hannah Hannah Barbara Devis (nee Barlow). Derek writes:
“
...the first name I can’t read but found a Mary Gibson born on the 5th of January 1792 (to David and Sarah) and christened at St Mary's Church, St Marylebone. However, the bible entry is for the christening at St Margaret's, Westminster so I presume at this stage David may have been married to a Sarah at this time and then the next children listed show David and Hannah as their parents. So, more searching needed”.
Brian of
nzolivers.com is therefore adding a first wife for David Gibson, called “Sarah”. And placing the “_ _ych Gibson” child under this marriage.
